St. Clair’s is one of the broadest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, nicknamed the "Little Niagara" for its width. It sits among the tea estates of the Nuwara Eliya district and is visible right from the main road.

The view

The falls drop in two broad cascades framed by green tea slopes. A signposted viewpoint on the Hatton, Talawakele road gives the classic vista without any hiking.

On the train

You can also glimpse the falls from the scenic hill-country railway between Hatton and Nanu Oya, one of the world’s great train rides.

Nearby

Devon Falls is a few minutes further along the same road, making an easy two-waterfall stop.
