Ramboda Falls: A Roadside Giant in Tea Country

By Days of Iru and Opa

Ramboda Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Sri Lanka and sits right on the climb up to Nuwara Eliya, so most people passing through the tea country see it. There are viewpoints from the road and paths that get you closer.

What to expect

The falls drop in two main tiers through the forested hillside, and the roar is impressive when the flow is up. Cafes and a rest stop overlook the falls, so you can take it in with a cup of tea.

Good to know

It is an easy stop on the Kandy to Nuwara Eliya road, no real hike needed for the main view. Getting to the base involves some steps, so allow a little extra time.
