Pettigala is one of those local rock viewpoints that rarely shows up in guidebooks, which is exactly the appeal. The short climb opens onto a wide view over green hills with almost no crowds.
What to expect
From the top of the rock the land rolls away in every direction, and on a clear day the view is huge. Because it is off the tourist map, you often get it to yourself.

A local guide or driver helps with directions, since it is not well signposted. Take water and proper shoes for the climb.
