Nanu Oya Waterfall: A Quiet Stop Near Nuwara Eliya
By Days of Iru and Opa
Nanu Oya is best known as the railway station for Nuwara Eliya, but the waterfall nearby is a nice, low-effort stop. It is close to the road and makes a good pause on the way up or down the hills.
What to expect
The falls drop through greenery just off the main route, so you get the sound and spray without a long hike. It is a calm spot to stretch your legs between train and town.
Good to know
Nanu Oya station is the arrival point if you take the hill-country train, and tuk-tuks wait there for the short ride to Nuwara Eliya. Combine the falls with the tea estates on the same road.
