Diyaluma Falls: The Upper Natural Infinity Pools
Diyaluma is one of the tallest waterfalls in the country, plunging in a single long drop near Koslanda. The real draw for many is the hike above it to natural pools that sit right on the lip of the cliff.
The lower falls
The main drop is visible right from the road and is impressive after rain, when the full height of the fall is in flow.
The upper pools
A steep trail of around 30-45 minutes climbs to a chain of natural pools at the top, including a famous cliff-edge pool with a huge view over the valley. Take real care near the edge and in the current, especially when water is high.
Guidance
The path up is not always obvious; a local guide helps you find the safest route and the best pools.
Access
Diyaluma is between Ella/Wellawaya and Koslanda, an easy add-on when travelling through the southern hill country.
